The Blue Mountains

Jump on a train from Sydney Central and an hour and a half later later you will arrive in Katoomba, the heart of the Blue Mountains, a journey costing a grand total of 7 dollars (or about £3.50 in real money)

The walks around Katoomba are a spectacular mix of rainforest and stunning cliff top views, a walkers paradise (despite some slightly useless signposting).

Sadly I only had two days in the Mountains but despite the brevity of the trip it was a pretty action packed time. Two good long walks (with plenty of nice steep uphill sections) and I feel much more confident about my little stroll in Sweden.

Anyway, time to head to Thailand, ciao for now!

Oh yes, and a quick shout out I the folks at the Flying Fox hostel for being so welcoming and recommending all the best (least touristy) walks, and to my travelling companion of the last week Marie, who organised the Blue Mountains trip and has been generally great.
